Coastal Restoration Services
BIS’s Infrastructure and Coastal Restoration group specializes in projects directed towards the restoration of coastal areas along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana.
BIS has been a part of numerous efforts and projects to restore our beautiful waters. President and CEO Daniel Bryant along with longtime friends Gary and Bob Glick founded Friends of RGV Reef, a nonprofit corporation whose main goal is to create a 1650-acre artificial reef off the coast of our home South Padre Island. The organization is meant to build and restore fish habitat, including nursery reefs, that have dwindled due to both man-made and natural disasters. (https://rgvreef.org/)
Coastal loss in Louisiana is an urgent problem and is rapidly getting worse. From 2004 through 2008 alone more than 300 Square Miles were lost as a result of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, and Ike. With sea levels rising, increasingly intense coastal storms, and coastal land continuing to sink, an additional 85 Square Miles of landmass will be lost by 2020. Reversing coastal loss requires an innovative approach, to go from the permit and planning stages through project execution.
BIS delivers solutions that synchronize financial requirements with the orderly prosecution of the work to provide the best value to our clients.
Together, we can fix this.
